Hello Everyone,

As many of you know, I have been the "Moderator" and "Administrator" of this forum from its start. While I hope to continue with those duties in the future, I am facing an operation in Seattle and probable lengthy recovery from a serious medical problem.

During recovery, I expect to need something to do as I will not be inspecting for several months. So, there may be a short lapse in my duties on the forum starting in the next week or two. The forum seems to be running smoothly at this point with minimal tweaking so it should not be a problem.

In case things do not go as well as I expect, it would be great to have someone available to step forward to take over. If someone has some experience with html coding and potentially has the time and interest, I would like to send a few instructions and passwords so that the forum can remain active if I can't.

Any takers?

I'm sorry you are having health problems Chris, I hope everything goes well for you during the operation and the recovery. Please let us know how you are doing when you get a chance. Best of luck, David

Update on my medical condition.

As some of you now know, I am under treatment for aggressive prostate cancer. My PSA score shot up and a biopsy confirmed that I have it. Men, get your PSA tests every year! Men do not die of prostate cancer but if it is aggressive and spreads, they can die from lymphatic or bone cancer, neither of which is a good way to go.

My cancer has not spread. I am feeling fine with no symptoms. Actually, I am feeling better than normal as I am exercising daily and have switched to an even better diet than I was on.

As for treatment, I received a hormone implant at Virginia Mason in Seattle which is working on weakening the cancer cells. I am currently in Juneau and will return to Seattle near the end of April 2008 to obtain daily (week days) external beam radiation treatment for about two months. I hope to be back in Juneau for the Fourth of July, cancer free, if all goes well.

With this treatment, I should be able to continue working on the forum so will not have to pass the buck to anyone. If things change, I will let you know.

Thank you for your concern and well wishes. I will be monitoring the board daily but will probably not have many technical questions to post for a while as I will not be inspecting until July.
